The National Red Cross in cooperation with BOHECO I, Philippine Army and Mater Dei College conducted Blood Letting at BOHECO I Main Office Function Hall on October 15, 2016. This activity is to commemorate the 7.2 magnitude earthquake that hit the western part of Bohol on October 15, 2013. BOHECO I employees, 20 personnel from the Philippine Army stationed in Macaas, Tubigon and some students of Mater Dei college donated blood to the Red Cross. Blood donations are stocked at the Red Cross Blood Bank ready for use to give life to those who need. 

The Red Cross Team led by Dr. Estrella Lim, Mrs. Hermelina Gubalane, and some Red Cross volunteers gave their heartfelt thanks to the blood donors for their willingness to give life to those who need life itself. 

BOHECO I conducts District 1, 7 & 9 Elections

The Board on its Special Session on May 28, 2016 held at Dominguez Beach Resort in Doljo, Panglao called and scheduled the district elections for Districts 1, 7 and 9 through Board Resolution No. 68-2016. The district elections were scheduled on July 31, 2016 for District 1, August 14, 2016 for District 7 and August 28, 2016 for District 9. The deadline for the submission of Certificate of Candidacy as per Election Guidelines for Electric Cooperatives is set ten (10) days before the scheduled district election. 

Pre-election Briefings were conducted to the Official Candidates, members of the District Election Committee (DECOM) and Precinct Election Committee (PECOM) on the scheduled dates. Official candidates were encouraged to attend said pre-election briefing as one of the qualifications. Attendance to the pre-election briefing conducted by the Institutional Service Department shall be mandatory as per NEA Memorandum No. 2009-11 dated March 15, 2009.   

Finally, election winners were proclaimed by the DECOM Chairman of the respective district together with the DECOM members. The new and re-elected directors are as follows: Dir. Marcial P. Degamo for District 1, Dir. Albert B. Ras for District 7 and Dir. Noe S. Cempron for District 9 (re-elected). The winning directors will take their Oath of Office before the General Assembly on October 1, 2016 during the 37th Annual General Membership Assembly (AGMA) of the cooperative to be held at the Calape Cultural and Sports Center, Desamparados, Calape, Bohol.

A total of 9,678 member-consumers registered and attended the Annual General Membership Assembly (AGMA) recently held last October 1, 2016 at the Calape Cultural and Sports Center, Desamparados, Calape, Bohol. The recorded attendance is equivalent to 6.65% of the total membership. 

Hon. Dionisio D. Balite, the vice-governor of Bohol was the guest speaker during the assembly wherein he commended BOHECO I for its success as well as for the member-consumers. He strongly encouraged the general assembly to be always vigilant with regards to the coop operations. He also urged the management and employees to keep on performing well in order to provide the best service to the member-consumers. 

The registration started at 6:00 o’clock in the morning and ended at 11:00 a.m. A Holy Mass was celebrated at 8:00 o’clock in the morning by Rev. Fr. Efren Dolauta, the parish priest of Saint Vincent Ferrer Parish, Calape, Bohol. It was followed by a short program, marching of the directors, management and staff, MSEAC members, and the raising of district banners. The business meeting started at 1:00 o’clock in the afternoon and ended at around 3:00 o’clock p.m.  A raffle draw followed after wherein 700 sacks of rice (10 kgs./sack) were raffled for the attending members and 36 major prizes mostly electric appliances for prompt payors. The grand prizes of 2 units Honda Wave motorcycle were raffled for the attending members and for the prompt payors. The assembly was conducted smoothly while the raffle caused the member-consumers to leave the venue with delight.

Of the many planned special activities of the year, the BOHECO I Family Day is one of the most awaited one. On May 28, 2016, together with their respective families, BOHECO I employees went to Dominguez White Beach Resort, Doljo, Panglao to take a splash of summer. The event was unwrapped with a Holy Mass which was celebrated by Fr. Leonel M. Grado at the white sands of the shore. There were games, sumptuous food was served and everyone bathe in a welcoming sea. The entire day was filled with laughter, delight and joy as the employees spend the day with the shinning sun and listening to the crashing waves. 

It was not just a day to relax for the people behind the accomplishments of BOHECO I, it was also a day for fun and bliss.
